AZ/CO Jennifer commissioned this special piece for her husband’s birthday.  He’s a tribal chief in the Delaware Tribe of Indians.  The turtle is a tribal totem.  Had a delightful dinner and presentation as the two stopped by our California place.   

Colorado master gardener, Dale, and her fine art photographer husband David combined with a requests to create this “Koi” platter as celebration for the pond/fish in their front yard.  Challenging as the design steps outside the typical woven approach.  The result worked after experimentation and trial tests.  You can see the sequence below… from original

(California) – New studio is coming together.  Lathe arrived yesterday and I’ll take the week to get set-up and do some trial turning.  Great to be able to turn “outside” under California sun and so near the ocean.  Cool breeze and small-town Oceanside is just about perfect.
